What policies/procedures need to be put into place in order for the building to run smoothly--not actual policies, but areas to be addressed!
Please also be sure to address what we do with them during lunch!

No food near computers
Security - do not share your netbooks
Students leave stuff all the time - do not leave them out
What about gym class - don't bring in.

No packpack policy - if a textbook can/can - are we going to chance this?
Do we require them to keep them charge - we'll need more places to update
There must be consistency when there is a lecture, what everyone does in class
Is there any way to track them?
Are students allowed to download anything
Are certain sites going to be restricted?


Sport - what do you do with them?
Insurance - is the district going to provide, person have to buy their own
Are they going to have email ability?
Thoughts are that they shouldn't have it?
What is the protocol that we follow for the class?

Server access - it won't allow student to log in - how are we going to deal with server space?
Will the school be able to hand the bandwidth

Are we looking at sharing? - virtual
Acceptable use policy that teachers sign - and the parents as well
What about students who leave the district?

What about if a kids is off topic - how do we deal with that?
Kids worry about the lockers being broken, where will they store them.
What about Sports - where do they put that?
After school, where are the kids going to keep their stuff? Outside people are here...
How do we identify the computers?

Monitoring - if you have an entire class working - can we have the capability to see what all of the students are doing - monitoring software?
Common procedures that everyone does?
Teach from the back of the class?

Do the kids get email at the freshman center?
How do we deal with that?
Can we have a filter on the email?

Are we opening up the door for more cyberbullying?
Transportation - how do they move

Procedures for going to the nurse? - only so many people going, how do we do that.
What about B lunch?

Storage - what are we going to do - in the class, in the hall - where do the student put these things?
Are we allowing backpacks?
Perhaps cubbies?
What about liability? If one kid in your class does something else to everyone else's stuff, who is responsible?

What about the content that students have on their own computer? How do we deal with that? Will our filter block the computer?
How do you deal with innapporiate access to content?

What about taking their privilede to be online away - what is the punishment for not following along?

What if your entire lesson plan is around the computer - how do we deal with that?
Do we expect that they will be able to save?

Batteries?
How do we make sure that students charge their battery?

How do we deal with the students having email - how do we monitor computers?
Can assessments be online - formative is fine, summative - how can we do that online?

Do we need to put names on things.

What about classes where only one or two students are juniuor/senior?
What about kids taking them to Tech?

How do we deal with students leaving the class?

What about more data projectos for the classrooms?

Where are we going to charge them? Are there going to be more places to charge them?

What about bringing them to class? Can we force them?
How are we going to identify whose netbook is whose?

What about huge classes where only so many students in the class are soph?

Lunches - how are we going to have

How do we deal with email, texting, skyping?
How do we make sure they are on task

What about the camera? How are people dealing with it?

Who and is going enforce and monitor? What are the concequences?

Can you "take the laptop away?": if the student is inappropriate?
When is there time for teachers to monitor students?

Kids can connect to their cellphone in order access to web without filters. How are we going to deal with this?
